Hugo Oliveira Silva- "Boango" Douro Tinto 2012 (750ml)

This wine is a sophisticated blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca grapes, traditionally foot-trodden in lagares. It matures for 24 months in French oak barrels, acquiring deep, rich notes of chocolate and plum. Dominated by black fruit, it offers a ripe, creamy, and dark aromatic profile. On the palate, it's a robust wine, with the oak aging contributing warming, spicy notes of coffee and cocoa. The inherent sweetness of the fruit, coupled with a tart plum skin edge and slightly roughening tannins and acidity, provides a balanced sharpness. This combination enhances the wine, giving it an extended and more pronounced finish.
