Domaine Edouard Confuron - "Aux Allots" Nuits Saint Georges 2022 (750ml)

Edouard Confuron represents the sixth generation of a Vosne-Romanée winemaking lineage, with roots tracing back to the legendary Jayer family. In 2021, he established his own small domaine—spanning just 1.5 to 2 hectares across the Côte de Nuits—while continuing to collaborate with his family’s historic holdings.

Aux Allots is a Premier Cru climat located in the northern sector of Nuits-Saint-Georges, just below the renowned Murgers and Les Boudots vineyards. Sitting at 230–250 meters with an east-facing exposure, its soils of pebbly limestone, silt, and clay produce wines that combine the firm structure typical of Nuits with a subtle elegance reminiscent of neighboring Vosne-Romanée.

In the cellar, Confuron often employs whole-cluster fermentation when conditions permit, and he farms organically with biodynamic principles. The 2022 vintage proved a pleasant surprise: despite a warm growing season, well-timed August rains preserved freshness and balance. The resulting wines show remarkable energy and poise for such a hot year—approachable in their youth, yet structured enough to reward cellaring.
