$26.99

From the Winemaker: "Our Gritschenberg vineyard continues to evolve with the next generation, crafted from young vines that emerged from our own massal selection. These vines share their origin with, and grow adjacent to, the old vines that my grandfather planted back in 1969." The wine's name, CRIC [kritch], also pays homage to this rich history, drawing its essence from Gritschenberg.

Grape Variety: Blaufrankisch

Origin: Gritschenberg Vineyard. This recent plantation, stemming from our own massal selection, thrives on the same ground as its predecessors. The soil is pure white limestone. These vines are dry-farmed and hold an organic certification.

Production Details: The grapes, harvested by hand, undergo a two-week maceration in their whole bunch form. The spontaneous fermentation process takes place in wooden fermenters. The wine then matures for 12 months in a previously used 2000l oak barrel. When bottled, it remains unfined and unfiltered, with a mere addition of 10 mg of sulfites.

Character: A wine that exudes fruitiness and aromatic richness, complemented by a vibrant acidity. As Markus puts it, "This is our most pristine and graceful Blaufränkisch, a true offspring of limestone."
