This wine opens with a ripe, refined bouquet of red berries and violets, with subtle vanilla/toast accents. On the palate, there's real power combined with elegance, the hallmark of the great 2019 vintage. The layered fruit is subtle and refined, highly reminiscent of a right bank St.-Emilion. In the manner of a classified growth, Donjon de Bruignac has a firm structure of tannins and acidity, giving it an excellent aging potential 3 to 5 years. However, it is quite enjoyable now with classic red Bordeaux accompaniments (suggestion: decant 30 minutes in advance).
